Enrollment for the coming school year opens up the December prior each year, for enrolled students and their siblings. Enrollment opens up to our waitlist mid-January. Families on the waitlist are contacted in waitlist order.
Our 4YO class is primarily 4YO’s although we will have some students turning 5. The Pre-K class is a mix of age 4 and age 5. Both classrooms use Letterland as the curriculum and both teachers can scale the difficulty of the lessons down or up to better accommodate each individual student. Students can go straight from either the 4YO program or the Pre-K program to Kindergarten and be successful. However, the Pre-K program has a little more Kindergarten prep. It’s not uncommon for children with July – September birthdays to enroll in a 4YO program after the 3’s as opposed to going straight to Pre-K, to prevent them from being the very youngest in their Kindergarten class.
It depends on when you plan to send your child to kindergarten. The Moore County Public School age cut off is August 31. So, if your child will be 5 by Aug 31, 2025, they are eligible to start kindergarten. However, it’s not uncommon for children with summer birthdays to attend an additional year of preschool so that they start kindergarten as the oldest in the class instead of the youngest.
Coming Soon!
We recommend getting on the waitlist as soon as possible! Be sure to select all future years in case you don’t get a spot your first year. For example: (A) 2025 – 2026 School Year: 2YO Program; (B) 2026 – 2027 School Year: 3YO Program; (C) 2027 – 2028 School Year: 4YO or Pre-K Program
Absolutely! We always expect some movement in our rosters in the spring and summer before school starts as families move out of the area. When a spot becomes available, the next family on the waitlist will be contacted. We also always expect movement in our rosters even after the school year begins. We will continue to fill any available spot that become available, throughout the entire school year, until March 1st. For any questions please contact us at (910) 638-0534 or office@littlepinesacademy.com
